Bill,
For what it's worth I had a few Bald eagle sightings last year on the Frankstown branch, I believe I know where the eagle's eyrie is located, Now I can't be sure as I did not actually see it. I'll have to investigate a bit more.

The reason I asked is that I saw a mature bald eagle fly under the I99 bridge while I was eating my BK lunch at the mouth of the LBE in April. He did a right turn bank over Tyrone and dissappeared. I also saw one down at the cornfield hole last week. They've been known to nest in the Rotherock Gorge area.

John,
How about Ospreys? Eagles are rarely direct fishers, for the most part, they depend on stealing fish from Ospreys.

All:

- Did anyone see the article in the Altoona Mirror with regards to the Bald Eagles down at Raystown Lake?

- I guess the nest is right at the water's edge. Had some pictures in the paper. Neat to see.
